A spokesman for the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms has a pretty good idea.
Last week’s debate between current President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump covered a lot of important ground. But why wasn’t Biden’s ongoing gun policies brought up? The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms might have a good idea.
Considering how Biden’s performance was borderline “dreadful,” that may have played a part. “The debate was a political disaster for Joe Biden and the Democrats,” said CCRKBA Alan Gottlieb in a press statement, “and the whole world was watching. The simple fact is that if the man we saw on stage had been asked to explain his campaign against guns, he would have been shooting blanks.”
“The debate was embarrassing, not only for Joe Biden, but for the country,” he continued, “but what else could CNN really do? There were moments when it was clear the president’s chamber was empty, so how could he have competently opened fire on the subject of gun control versus rights? At best, he would have been going off half-cocked.
“Throughout his political career, Joe Biden has been on the warpath against the Second Amendment, and he has even bragged about it. However, since the Heller ruling in 2008 and the McDonald decision in 2010, followed by the Bruen ruling in 2022, Biden has consistently been on the losing side of the Constitution. Last night, it sadly became obvious the President has run out of ammunition, and it may be time for him to leave the range.”
So what happens now? A spokesman for the CCRKBA joins us now to discuss the matter further.
Q&A:
- Do you believe the debate moderators avoided the guns topic on purpose because of Biden’s inability to act coherently during the debate?
- If it had been mentioned, how do you think it would have gone? How would Trump have responded?
- Is there a chance that it’ll come up with a future debate between the two? Or will the moderators likely avoid the subject again?
- The matter does need to be brought up at some point. But the real question is when – and, for that matter, how. Is it really a matter of Biden trying to find the ideal timing to discuss it?
- Will Trump likely bring up the subject himself during a debate? Or at the very least, talk about why Biden may be avoiding it?
