The law enforcement veteran explains why a number of police divisions are pushing for Trump instead of Kamala Harris.
Despite what some people may think about Trump’s performance during the debate with Kamala Harris earlier this week, he’s still seeing a tremendous amount of support. And that includes various police divisions.
Blue Lives Matter and Police Tribute are openly endorsing Trump for re-election as President. For that matter, Law Enforcement Today has also written a statement, providing their support as well.
“There’s zero question that you are the ONLY candidate who will fight alongside our protectors of this great nation,” the site noted in its statement.
“It’s not hyperbole to say that many in our organization believe you are anointed for this time, and that this time is perhaps our nation’s most important stand against tyranny.”
So why would police back Donald Trump in his push for re-election? The answer is plain and simple.
Over the past few years, President Joe Biden has changed course on his “defund the police” campaign, vowing to have them funded again. However, he has yet to make any effort on a new bill that would provide them the necessary funding for mental health support, better gear and additional officers. And it looks like his fellow Democratic leaders are following suit.
What’s more, it doesn’t appear that Kamala Harris will shift course from this, and has said absolutely nothing about funding the police. Trump, however, seems set on not only providing said funding, but also changing border policy so that the ongoing Border Crisis comes to its much-needed close.
