What Happens When Gaza Medics Are Forced From Their Hospitals? (Guest: Mark Biltz)

The founder of El Shaddai Ministries discusses a recent report following the closure of a hospital – and where that leaves the patients and workers.

It’s impossible to not see the death toll that’s risen from the ongoing battle between Israel and Hamas. But one factor that many don’t see are the struggles that hospital workers go through – especially when their location suddenly gets closed down.

new report from Reuters revealed that Israel has ordered the closure and evacuation of one of the last remaining hospitals within the Gaza Strip region. As a result, patients are left with no place to recover, and medics need to find a way to make sure they’re all safe and secure.

The head of the Kamai Adwan hospital in Belt Lahiya noted that following the order was “next to impossible” given the patients and staff involved, leaving them in a very tough spot.

“We currently have nearly 400 civilians inside the hospital, including babies in the neonatal unit, whose lives depend on oxygen and incubators. We cannot evacuate these patients safely without assistance, equipment, and time,” said Abu Safiya. “We are sending this message under heavy bombardment and direct targeting of the fuel tanks, which if hit will cause a large explosion and mass casualties of the civilians inside.”

That said, the Israel military have yet to respond, and now both medics and patients alike face an even tougher situation than expected.

What kind of toll does this take on the remaining human factor inside Israel? Joining us now to discuss this further is Pastor Mark Biltz, an author and the founder and Senior Pastor of El Shaddai Ministries in Washington State. His experience should prove useful in this conversation. Welcome, Mark.

Q&A:

  1. How concerning is it that we don’t see enough support given to these medics and doctors that are just trying to treat the injuries of these wounded citizens?
  2. Is it equally concerning that Israeli government doesn’t seem to be providing the support necessary to help these people out?
  3. Why close a hospital? What purpose do you think it serve in terms of the Israeli military?
  4. What will happen to these people if they don’t receive the support they need? Could we see an even higher death toll as a result?
  5. Where do you see the conflict between Israel and Hamas going in the year ahead? Will the situation get worse before it gets better?
  6. You discuss something called the Tribulation quite often. Tell us more about it, and when you think it might take place.
  7. Tell us more about your work with El Shaddai Ministries.
  8. We understand we can see your sermons live online. Where can those interested go for further information?
