University of Texas on Antisemitic Protests: Our University Will Not Be Occupied (Guest: Michael Letts)

Antisemitic protestors took to the University of Texas campus only to find the police quickly on the scene removing those who don’t follow the rules of peaceful protest. University of Texas at Austin President Jay Hartzell released a statement Wednesday that said “The group that led this protest stated it was going to violate Institutional Rules. Our rules matter, and they will be enforced. Our University will not be occupied.”

As the unruly UT students yelled “pigs go home,” dozens were arrested as riot police stormed the campus and quickly took control of the situation.  Texas Governor Greg Abbot, a Republican, added “Antisemitism will not be tolerated in Texas. Period. Students joining in hate-filled, antisemitic protests at any public college or university in Texas should be expelled.”

Joining us now to discuss the latest is Michael Letts, a law enforcement veteran with over 30 years of experience under his belt. Letts is President, Founder, and CEO of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable groups and sponsorships.

Welcome, Michael.

Q&A:

1. What do you think of how the University of Texas handled this situation? Is this show of force the way to go?

2. Should antisemitic students who participate be expelled, as the governor suggested?

3. Will other university leaders learn from this?

4. Does it send a message to Americans that red-state leaders are harder on blatant antisemitism?

5. Do you think this response caught the leftists on the UT campus off guard?

6. What makes Texas different than other states?

7. Do you believe this entire nationwide charade would be over if other schools, like Columbia, did this right from the start?

8. When you hear that the students shouted “pigs go home,” what does that tell us about these protestors?
