U.S. Supreme Court to hear Landmark Abortion Case Dec. 1 that might Overturn Roe v Wade Guests: Justice Foundation

The debate over pro-life and a woman’s right to abortion has reached a fever pitch in recent months, with advocates on both sides of the issue trying to hit the reset button on national policy.

The Supreme Court set Dec. 1 arguments on Mississippi’s ban on abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy — a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade. Lower courts have blocked Mississippi’s ban, claiming it directly violates Roe’s protections for pre-viability abortions. In taking the Mississippi case, the Supreme Court’s conservative supermajority signaled its openness to revisit and potentially overturn the landmark 1973 decision that legalized abortion nationwide, with a ruling expected next year. This case is on the heels of the Texas law that went into effect in September that has banned most abortions in the state as early as six weeks into pregnancy.

Our guest to provide additional insight on this matter is Attorney Allan Parker of The Justice Foundation and his client, a woman who, in his Amicus Brief to the Supreme Court, attested that she once was a frozen embryo. She is the first Human Embryo who has filed an amicus brief before the Supreme Court. She’s 22 years old now, and no longer an embryo, proving that embryos are viable and not merely blobs of tissue.

Q&A:

1. Where do you stand on abortion rights in the U.S.?

2. The Biden administration claimed in a State Department Report that abortion is a human right.  Do you agree or do you think abortion is a crime against humanity?

3.  America is deeply divided over abortion.  It has led to a petition called the Moral Outcry over this issue. Why do you think over 500,000 Americans signed it?

4.  Is the Supreme Court considering The Moral Outcry Petition right now as they consider the Mississippi abortion case?

5. You filed an Amicus Brief before the Supreme Court in a first since your client, Hannah S., who once was a frozen embryo, but today is a viable and vibrant 22-year-old. Tell us about this historic filing.

5. Do you think the Supreme Court’s conservative majority will uphold the Texas law? How will rule in the Mississippi case? And do you believe either of these cases will overturn the Roe v Wade case that ‘legalized’ abortion?

6. If that happens, how will it provide a guidepost for other conservative states to enact similar abortion restrictions?

7.  Where can viewers get more information on the Moral Outcry and your nonprofit organization, The Justice Foundation, and get their views known in Washington?

ABOUT ALLAN PARKER…

Allan Parker, President of The Justice Foundation, was lead counsel for Norma McCorvey, formerly “Roe” of Roe v. Wade, from 2000 to 2012, and Sandra Cano, the “Doe” of Doe v. Bolton, until 2014 in their efforts to overturn the two landmark cases that brought legalized abortion on demand to America.

The Moral Outcry is a ministry of The Justice Foundation providing free legal representation to Melinda Thybault and assistance to those who sign her nationwide petition asking the Supreme Court to reverse its abortion cases. This petition serves as a symbol of America’s Moral Outcry against abortion. It will wake up the nation and galvanize the national conscience to end the scourge of abortion in America. The petition may be found at www.themoraloutcry.com

The Justice Foundation also represents the women of Operation Outcry, a ministry of The Justice Foundation that seeks to end the pain of abortion in America and around the world by mobilizing women hurt by abortion to become witnesses who share their true stories of the devastating effects of abortion through courts and legislatures. Operation Outcry holds the largest collection in the world of legally admissible, written testimonies from women hurt by abortion.

The Justice Foundation’s Center Against Forced Abortion (CAFA) provides free legal resources and training for lawyers, police, school counselors, and pregnancy resource centers and direct legal help to mothers who are being unduly pressured, forced or coerced into an unwanted abortion. We estimate the Center’s training, assistance and legal tools save between 1000-2000 mothers and babies annually from forced abortion.

HANNAH S.

1.  Who is Hannah S.?

The first formerly frozen human embryo to file a Friend of the Court Brief at the U.S.
            Supreme Court in American history.

2.  Which case?

Dobbs – The Mississippi ban on late term abortion after 15 weeks, set for Oral
            Argument on Dec. 1, 2021.

3.  Why is that case important?

It could lead to the reversal of Roe v. Wade.

4.  How was Hannah fertilized and adopted?

In vitro fertilization outside her mother, then artificially frozen outside her mother’s womb, then placed into her adoptive mother’s, Marlene, womb.

5.  What does her life prove that could lead to the reversal of Roe v. Wade?

Roe said that abortion could be banned “after viability”. Viability was defined as “capable of living outside the mother’s womb, albeit with artificial aid.” Her life experience irrefutably establishes that with today’s science, viable life begins at fertilization and thus abortion should be permissibly banned from fertilization and continues until birth if states choose to do so.
