Trump Blames Iran for US Embassy Attack: How Will He Respond?

After the attack by Muslim mobs on the American Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq, President Trump accused Iran of masterminding the attack, in which fires were set and serious damage was done to security equipment surrounding the embassy building. The Iranian-backed Kataib Hezbollah terrorist organization claimed responsibility for the attack.

What kind of Trump response can we expect after this latest provocation from the self-defined Islamic Republic?

Speaking to us from Jerusalem is Middle East expert David Rubin, former mayor of Shiloh and author of “Trump and the Jews”.

Q&A

  1. How do we know that Trump’s accusation is on target? Answer: We know this from military intelligence, both American and Israeli, but we also know that for years, the Iranian regime has been heavily funding and guiding the Shiite Muslim terror groups in Iraq, in Syria, and in Lebanon.
  2. What do we know about Kataib Hezbollah?

Answer: They are an Iranian-Iraqi terror group that was founded in 2003 and is closely affiliated with the powerful Hezbollah terror group based in Lebanon. Both groups are heavily funded and supported by Iran.

  1. What kind of response, if any, can we expect from President Trump?

Answer: Despite his reputation as a wild man, Trump is actually very cautious about military action, but the embassy attack is a strong provocation by Iran, with great symbolism. Remember the 1979 regime-inspired siege on the American Embasssy in Iran when 52 American hostages were held captive for 44 days.

  1. So, will we see a military response?

Answer: I think it’s unavoidable. Otherwise, President Trump will lose the element of deterrence that he hoped he had attained with his measured response to the previous Iranian aggression in Iraq. The Teheran regime  will be watching carefully. A lack of a strong U.S. military response will be seen as a sign of weakness, Trump can’t risk being a paper tiger in Iranian eyes.

  1. Where can people get a copy of your book “Trump and the Jews”?

Answer: They can go to www.DavidRubinIsrael.com or just go to Amazon.com and type in the words “Trump and the Jews”.
