TOPIC: NY City’s Police, Fire, EMS, showdown today over vaccine mandate Guest: Michael Letts

New York City is facing a critical situation today with the potential of more than 24,000 police, fire and EMS workers walking off the job. Over the weekend 19 Fire Stations in NY’s 5 boroughs closed due to the worker shortage over vaccine mandates.

New Yorkers are left to wonder what will be the impact of Mayor de Blasio’s vax mandate?

About 12,000 staff for first responder agencies and 2,100 sanitation workers face the prospect of unpaid leave starting Monday, November 1. That includes 8,300 NYPD employees and 3,900 people with FDNY. Overall, about 24,200 municipal employees remain unvaccinated. According to the mayor’s office, the size of New York City’s workforce is approximately 378,000 people.

The Police Benevolent Association, representing 24,000 New York City police officers, said, “The city has provided no explanation, much less a rational one, for the need to violate the autonomy and privacy of NYPD police officers in such a severe manner, on the threat of termination.”

To help answer that question and provide insight into this matter, law enforcement officer/firefighter Michael Letts, founder of In-Vest USA, a charitable organization donating bulletproof vests to police and other first responders.

Q&A:

  1. Welcome, Michael. In your opinion, will Democrat Mayor Bill de Blasio really fire over ten thousand New York City Police, Fire, and EMS officers?
  2. If Mayor de Blasio does fire all police and firefighters and every other municipal worker from desk clerks to morgue managers, what will that do to the city?
  3. Across the country, Defund the Police caused a portion of their police force to be reduced… Then they had riots. How did that work out?
  4. Between the Defund the Police movements, vaccine mandates, and liberal laws restricting them, it almost seems like an intentional effort to paint bullseyes on the backs of police officers, daring anyone to take a shot at them. But at least most police officers wear bulletproof vests for protection, right?
  5. Your company, InVest USA, is a charitable organization that donates bulletproof vests to law enforcement and other first responders. Please tell us what you are doing to help our communities.
  6. How may we learn more about InVest and help our police officers?

GUEST: Michael A Letts is the CEO and Founder of  In-VestUSA, a national grassroots non-profit organization helping hundreds of communities provide thousands of bulletproof vests for their police forces through educational, public relations, sponsorship, and fundraising programs.
