A spokesman for the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) explains why there’s something to be learned from the incident.
Democrats these days seem to continue to push for a soft-on-crime agenda and steps towards gun control. But what happens when they see the error of their ways firsthand?
That’s what happened with a 25-year old Democrat delegate in Bellevue, Washington, who was recently robbed at gunpoint by a two-person stickup crew. They lost their wallet and room keys before the duo moved on to other activities.
“This is an object lesson for the Democrats,” said Alan Gottlieb, chairman for the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA). “Their efforts to disarm law-abiding citizens while promoting a soft-on-crime agenda have been a massive failure, and this incident proves it. They want to make it difficult for honest citizens to own and carry guns, while they have been unwilling and unable to keep guns out of criminal hands, especially in crime centers such as Chicago, which—no surprise here—has been run by Democrats for decades.
“Worse still,” he continued, “it was reported that the U.S. Secret Service had even warned delegates to remove their badges as they left the United Center Wednesday because of multiple robbery attempts since the convention began Monday. Maybe if Illinois Democrats had adopted legislation recognizing all non-resident carry permits, allowing visitors to Chicago and other Illinois cities to carry guns, this sort of brazen crime wouldn’t be happening.
“Likewise,” Gottlieb added, “Democrat policies have allowed repeat offenders to escape jail time and continue robbing people. We’re glad nobody was hurt, but this should send a signal to Democrats about their misguided gun control and soft-on-crime efforts. The experiment has failed and it is time to try something different. But, since we’re talking about the party of gun prohibition, Democrats appear to be stuck on stupid, which is why bad guys roam the streets and good guys literally pay the price.”
A spokesman for the CCRKBA joins us now to discuss the incident.
Q&A:
- Why do you think Democrats are so determined to be soft on crime and attempting to pass gun control on private citizens?
- Is there a hidden agenda here? Or are they merely trying to look good for their superiors and partners?
- What does this incident say about what comes from the decision of their actions? Do you believe a lesson will be learned here? By the delegate, at least?
- You’ve often discussed how Concealed-Carry is a proper solution to criminal acts such as this. Do you believe more states should be adopting the policy and allowing people to defend themselves as needed?
- Why do you think so many people are against Concealed-Carry? Are they really that concerned about “more guns being on the street,” as it were?
- Where can people call in to pledge their support to the CCRKBA?
- The number to support the group is (800) 699-0992.
- Where can we learn more about the CCRKBA and its members?
