The New York Times’ Article Attacks the Supreme Court For Its Overturning of Roe vs. Wade – and the Hypocrisy Is Easy To Spot (Guest: Rev. Jim Harden)

CompassCare CEO Jim Harden discusses the imbalance with the publication’s massive article surrounding a leak prior to the Supreme Court decision.

With many people still going after pro-life organizations following the overturning of Roe vs. Wade months ago, the New York Times has opted to add fuel to the fire with a scorching new report that picks at the credibility of the people behind its overturning, the Supreme Court.

In this report, the author takes a closer look at the Justice supposedly responsible for playing a majority part in the overturning – Justice Alito. The document features comments from former pro-life activist Rob Schenck, who serves as what some may call a “Tokyo Rose” to the situation.

Prior to the decision being overturned, Politico had leaked a verbatim draft copy of the documents surrounding it, creating a crime wave against pro-life organizations as well as Supreme Court Justices – one that, surprisingly enough, but the DOJ and FBI have chosen to ignore. While Chief Justice John Roberts has instructed the Marshall of the Court to look into an investigation, very little has come from it after all these months.

Schenck explains in his comments how he wrote Chief Justice John Roberts, explaining how previous pro-life interactions could have provided some detail to the Court’s investigation on the leak. He noted that a donor to his previous organization had dinner with Alito, who was reportedly speaking about the Hobby Lobby Case from 2014. However, Alito and anyone involved with the supposed dinner deny it ever took place.

The document as a whole, according to CompassCare CEO Jim Harden, undermines the Supreme Court and its decisions related to abortion. Harden (or advancement manager Daniel Tomlinson) join us now to discuss this further, and what could come from the fallout.

Q&A:

  1. You believe that the New York Times piece is filled with “hearsay.” What led you to this statement and can you provide detail on what information is being falsified?
  2. Why do you think the New York Times would publish a piece such as this? To gain sympathy for the pro-choice side of things? To further anger people against pro-life institutions?
  3. You’ve seen firsthand the violence that comes from the Roe vs. Wade reversal, particularly with the firebombing of your Buffalo CompassCare location. Can you talk to us further about that? Has anything been done in terms of investigating who’s responsible?
  4. What do you think will happen in the weeks ahead after the publication of this report? Could we see the DOJ or FBI try to take a closer look at its meaning? Or perhaps talk with Schenck?
  5. Where do you see the pro-life/pro-choice argument for abortion going in 2023? Do you believe things will get worse before they get better?
  6. Where can we learn more about CompassCare and its services?
