The Citizens Committee For the Right to Keep and Bear Arms Honors Rep. Darrell Issa As “Gun Rights Defender of the Year”

A spokesman for the group explains why the award is well deserved, and how well the Republican Congressman has done.

At a time when so many politicians are fighting against gun rights, U.S. Rep and Republican Congressman Darrell Issa is stepping up. And the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) wants to praise him for it.

During the recent Gun Rights Policy Conference in San Diego, the group awarded Issa as “Gun Rights Defender of the Year” for 2024. Chairman Alan Gottlieb praised his efforts, noting “all the hard work he has done protecting our Second Amendment rights.”

Alongside Richard Hudson of North Carolina and Republican Senator Jim Risch of Idaho, Issa recently introduced the Freedom from Unfair Gun Taxes Act, which stopped states from implementing excite taxes on firearms and ammunition to fund gun control programs.

“Political leaders like Darrell Issa work hard every day to make sure our rights aren’t eroded to the point they become government-regulated privileges,” Gottlieb said. “It was our honor to recognize his efforts.”

A spokesman for the group joins us now to discuss Issa’s efforts further.
