The Biden Administration’s Red Flag Hub Puts Private Gun Owners In the Crosshairs (Guest: Stephen Willeford)

The spokesman for the Gun Owners of America believes the rule will stir up nothing but trouble for the sake of “protection”.

In a continued effort to fight back against guns, the Biden Administration recent announced that it is setting up a “national center” in the hopes to educate police, prosecutors and others about “red flag” laws, which could take away guns from Americans “who pose a threat to themselves or others.”

The National Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO) Resource Center will serve as a technical and training assistance hub to remind them of said laws, allowing them to claim to an emergency court if they feel a person is unfit to own a firearm. Once “flagged,” said person would be unable to buy firearms and show any that might be in their possession.

While the Biden Administration believes they’re doing “right” with this center, these laws could very well violate the Second Amendment rights of private gun owners – a majority of whom don’t have any wrongdoing in mind.

As expected, some advocates and gun groups feel that the project is nothing short of “evil.”

Conservative politician activist Laura Loomer noted, “Oh look. The DOJ just created a program to red flag Trump supporters at the same time they are allowing for illegals to have guns. We all know this will only be used against Trump supporters, so let’s just call it what it is. A red flag database to disarm MAGA. Communism.”

Joining us now to discuss this further is Stephen Willeford, the spokesman for the Gun Owners of America. You may recall Willeford being the “hero with a gun” with the Sutherland Springs situation in 2017, in which he’s co-authored a book. His expertise on gun rights make him an ideal interviewee for this subject. Welcome, Stephen!

Q&A:

  1. What do you think compelled the Biden Administration to put together this “national center” to accelerate importance of “red flag” laws? Is he simply that determined to get guns out of the hands of citizens?
  2. What kind of trouble could this stir up for private gun owners – even those that didn’t do anything wrong?
  3. How heavy in violation of the Second Amendment would you say this program truly is?
  4. Could this come back to hurt Biden during his re-election campaign later this year?
  5. You’ve often discussed the effectiveness of Constitutional-Carry when it comes to a proper resolution to the ongoing “active shooter events.” What makes it so effective?

  7. You recently wrote a book called A Town Called Sutherland Springs: Faith and Heroism Through Tragedy, revolving around your 2017 “hero with a gun” situation. Tell us more about how this came together, and why it’s such an important read right now.
