The law enforcement veteran discusses the incident, and hopes that Trump is able to push forward for a return to the White House.
For the first time in well over 40 years, a former President was in the crosshairs of a shooter. And not just any former President.
Donald Trump was visiting Pennsylvania on Saturday night for his re-election campaign when 20-year old Thomas Matthew Crooks attempted to shoot him, injuring his ear. Though two were killed in the attempt, the Secret Service were able to kill him.
Many were shocked by the incident – including Trump’s main rival in this year’s election, current President Joe Biden. “There’s no place in America for this kind of violence – it’s sick, it’s sick,” he noted.
However, what’s unfortunate about this is that this was because of what Biden has crafted America into over the past few years. Between inflation, misinformation provided through his government offices, and the ongoing Border Crisis (which continues to be out of hand), he has shown the wrong kind of leadership.
So, with this misinformation, and at a time when active shooter events are at an all-time high, it would be easy like Crooks to get the idea in his head to “preserve America” by targeting Trump.
