Supreme Court Rules Trump Has Substantial Immunity (Guest: Kenin Spivak)

On Monday, the United States Supreme Court declared Presidents are immune from prosecution for official acts committed while in office, but not for unofficial acts.  This complicates special counsel Jack Smith’s claim that the former president interfered with an election. The ruling was 6-3, with the three liberal justices dissenting. An appellate court had previously rejected Trump’s immunity claims.

The decision is particularly frustrating for the Biden camp as it destroys any chance the case will head to trial before the election. Democrats wanted the Supreme Court to hear the case back in December.

With Biden shocking the nation with his inability to speak clearly in the first Presidential debate, punishing Trump via the court system is key to Democrat hopes come November.

Kenin Spivak, an author and lawyer who has tried cases in federal and state courts is also a writer for The American Mind magazine of the Claremont Institute. His experience in the courtroom and in the political world make him an ideal guest for this Supreme Court decision.

Spivak has also been closely following the social media case that will be decided by the Supreme Court Monday.

Welcome, Kenin.
