Supreme Court Appears Skeptical of Ban on Abortion Drug (Guest: Rev. Jim Harden)

After oral arguments concluded in the Supreme Court case against FDA and their decision to loosen restrictions on the abortion pill mifepristone, pro-life leaders were discouraged by the day’s events. Even conservative Supreme Court justices questioned whether the FDA decisions could be challenged in federal court.

Both Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Neil Gorsuch asked why a nationwide ban on the abortion pill is necessary.

Many suspect the Supreme Court will rule the doctors do not have legal standing to sue and will likely dismiss the case.

The decision isn’t expected to be announced until the end of June or early July.

Joining us now is Rev. Jim Harden, CEO for CompassCare, which runs several pregnancy centers across the United States.

Q&A:

1. Based on questions and statements from the Supreme Court Justices, does it appear there will be any ban on mifepristone?

2. Did this go as you expected? Why or why not?

3. How often do the questions of the Justices truly indicate where they land?

4. Are you particularly disappointed in the actions of any specific justice?

5. Democrats were preparing to use any decision against them to get pro-abortion women out to vote for Biden come November. Do you think, deep down, they are disappointed by the day’s events?

6. What’s next for the pro-life side? Is this a dead issue? Will we likely see pro-lifers picketing the drug stores that see the abortion pill? Or possibly see them stage an outright permanent boycott of Walgreens and CVS, or even form their own pro-life mail-order pharmacies that do not offer the abortion pill?

7. Where can people go to learn more about CompassCare and what your team is working on?
