South Carolina Just Joined the List of States That Now Allow Constitutional-Carry – So Why Isn’t Biden Paying Attention? (Guest: Stephen Willeford)

The spokesman for the Gun Owners of America discusses the state’s recent bill, along with the statement it makes to Biden.

This past Thursday, during the State of the Union Address, President Joe Biden made it clear that his vision for the future involves restoring “the right to choose and protect other freedoms.” The problem is, he wasn’t speaking about the Second Amendment and continues to give private gun owners the cold shoulder.

However, many states are implementing their own rules for Constitutional-Carry – including South Carolina.

Right before the weekend, the state became the 29th to allow those to carry firearms without a permit, or “Concealed-Carry” (Constitutional-Carry) as it’s called.

H 3594 “eliminates the requirement for a concealed weapons permit, and sets the minimum age to receive a license to 18. There are also restrictions where a gun can be carried without a license, including schools and government buildings – all the more reason to inspire people to apply for a license.

“This bill expands the Second Amendment rights of our law-abiding citizens and will keep violent criminals behind bars with increased penalties for illegal gun use and possession,” McMasters noted in a statement.

With so many states that now support Constitutional-Carry, it brings up an interesting question – why doesn’t President Biden pay more attention to this?

Joining us now to discuss this further is Stephen Willeford, the spokesman for the Gun Owners of America. You may recall Willeford being the “hero with a gun” with the Sutherland Springs situation in 2017, in which he’s co-authored a book. His expertise on gun rights make him an ideal interviewee for this subject. Welcome, Stephen!
