All the eyes of the world are on the sudden death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and a number of other officials on Sunday.
Raisi was seen as a protégé to Iran Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and a potential successor for his position.
Tehran launched hundreds of missiles and drones at Israel just over a month ago with nearly all of them intercepted before they did any damage. Some wonder if Israel had anything to do with the downing of the helicopter, which disappeared in thick fog Sunday before hitting the ground and killing all aboard. Israel has yet to comment on the incident, though some notable figures have celebrated the death.
Sid Roth notes, however, that this crash has deep seeded implications.
He joins us now.
Q&A:
1. With the passing of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his foreign minister, who will likely be the new President?
Answer: The election is in 50 days. The presumptive successor is the current vice president, who will fill in immediately.
2. Can anything significant happen between now and the election in 50 days?
Answer: A lot can happen in 50 days. Just look at what all happened in the past 50 days.
3. Wasn’t Ebrahim Raisi the hand-picked successor to the late Ayatollah Khomeini?
Answer: Yes, and the question remains who is the best successor who is ideologically similar to Ebrahim Raisi?
4. Is the office of the Presidency of Iran the most powerful office, or is there more power behind the throne, so to speak?
Answer: The Mullahs have had the power since the revolution. While the President is more or less a figurehead, the Mullahs still want someone in line with their hardline beliefs.
5. Are there natural implications of this change?
Answer: There are natural implications, but the spiritual implications are more significant.
6. You have made a controversial statement in the past that you believe the day is coming soon when Israel will completely destroy Iran.
Answer: Yes, I stand by what I said because the Bible says that.
7. Let’s assume for the moment that you are correct and Israel destroys Iran. But wouldn’t that lead to the entire Arab Federation joining forces to destroy Israel?
Answer: They tried that before more than once. But the Bible says that Israel will not be destroyed.
8. You have a television show with more than 2 million daily viewers called “Sid Roth’s It’s Supernatural.” Tell us, what is your show about?
9. Every day we see more news headlines dominated by stories about Israel, Iran, and the Middle East. Is this an anomaly or the new normal?
Answer: It’s the new normal and soon the entire news cycle will be dominated by news pertaining to the Middle East, particularly Israel. The Bible cautions nations not to go against Israel. Every time they did, they were judged by God. God also judges Israel. But that is between God and Israel, and not something U.S. leaders should try to supplant.
10. What do you believe led to this crash? Is there any reason to believe Israel was involved?
11. Should the world celebrate his death?
12. Where may we get more information on your ministry or support your work?
