The founder of Reconnecting Ministries discusses the recent pleas by Israeli ambassador Danny Danon, and if they’ll be answered.
The conflict between Israel and Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran has been ongoing for several months now, resulting in the deaths of thousands. And during that time, several have tried to find some sort of peacefire deal between the two, only for conflict to once again resurface.
But Danny Danon has seen enough.
This week, the new Israeli ambassador addressed the United Nations Security Council, stating that Iran could be on the verge of obtaining a nuclear weapon. As you might guess, such an action would be catastrophic in the fight against Israel.
Danon warned that “if the U.N. is not capable of implementing the resolution, we will have to implement the resolution and push Hezbollah away from our community in the north.”
As for the nuclear threat, he noted, “I think it’s about time that not only Israel will deal with Iran, but the Western democracies will realize that they have to put pressure on Iran, they have to be active in order to prevent Iran from achieving nuclear capabilities.”
But the real question is if the UN Security Council should step in – and whether it would be effective.
Joining us now to discuss this further is Grant Berry, founder of Reconnecting Ministries and the author and producer of the Romans 911 project. His expertise in what’s happening in Israel makes him an ideal guest for this subject. Welcome, Grant.
Q&A:
- Do you believe Danon may be making a point when it comes to a potential nuclear threat from Iran?
- How devastating would the launch of such a weapon be against the people of Israel? How badly would the body count mount from such an attack?
- Danon pleaded for help from the UN Security Council. But can they provide it? And, for that matter, will they?
- Where do you see the fight between Israel and Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran going in the months ahead? How many more people do you fear will die as a result?
- Tell us more about the Romans 911 audiobook, as well as the Romans 911podcast.
- Where can we find Romans 911 and learn more about it?
- There are two websites: Romans911.org, which introduces the project; and our main website, ReconnectingMinistries.com.
