Palestinians for Biden: Israelis for Trump

Palestinian Authority (PA) cabinet leader Mohammad Shtayyeh said on Tuesday that a Donald Trump victory in the upcoming presidential elections in the United States will be disastrous for his people and the world at large. On the other hand, Israelis are overwhelmingly in the President’s corner, with only small minority hoping for a Biden victory.

Here to break it down for us is American Israeli David Rubin, former Mayor of Shiloh and author of “Trump and the Jews”.

Suggested Q&A:

  1. What are Middle Easterners thinking about the upcoming American elections? The Middle East is not of one opinion when it comes to American elections, but I can tell you specifically about Israelis and Palestinians, and perhaps as could be expected, they are polar opposites. Given the ideological divide, it’s understandable.
  2.  Can you be more specific? Certainly. The Palestinians have been boycotting both Israel and the Trump administration for the past four years and they are totally in Biden’s camp. Israelis, however, are heavily rooting for a Trump victory. According to the latest poll, 64% of Israel’s favor Trump, while only 18% support Biden. Considering that 20% of Israelis are Arabs, those figures show that almost every Jewish Israeli would vote for Trump.
  3. How do you account for that polarization? When President Trump was elected, he did away with the nonsense from the Obama-Biden years that the US can’t support policies that are good for Israel. That’s why Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, recognized the strategic Golan Heights as an integral part of Israel, withdrew the US from that horrible Iran nuclear deal, and stopped supporting Palestinian payments to terrorists.
  4. You were shot and wounded by Palestinian terrorists, along with your then three-year-old son, who was shot in the head. Are those terrorists still receiving salaries from the Palestinian Authority? Yes, they are, but at least it’s no longer being supported by the United States government, thanks to this president.
  5. What would be your recommendation to Jewish Americans in this election? Not just me, but almost every Jewish Israeli says, “Vote for Trump”, while the Palestinian governing authorities that pay salaries to terrorists want Biden to win. That says it all. Every American (not every Jew) who supports the survival of Israel and is against terrorism should vote for Trump.
  6. Your book, “Trump and the Jews” explains this in a lot more detail. Where can people get a copy? They can get a copy at www.DavidRubinIsrael.com or go to Amazon and type in the words, Trump and the Jews.
