Communist Chinese Persecuting Citizens while Turning a Profit
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) does not want Chinese culture to exist, particularly the Falun Gong and the affiliated Shen Yun spiritual dance culture. It also doesn’t want any religious movement to exist. It has further demonstrated that it will use persecution as a means for doing so, while also profiting from that persecution. For example, the Falun Gong – considered an off shoot of Buddhism – is largely recognized as being a movement that is more spiritual and practices good moral living.
However, Falun Gong has found itself in the crosshairs of the CCP. It is a persecuted minority in that country. In fact, things are so bad for them that organ harvesting is a real threat to the in-country practitioners of Falun Gong. The organ trade in China is estimated be valued at $1 Billion per year and Falun Gong are often the unwilling participants of this practice.
At the turn of the 21st century, the CCP really began persecuting Falun Gong. This is evidenced by the drastic reduction in wait times for vital organs used in transplants. The CCP takes issue with all things it deems culturally religious. As the rise of Falun Gong and Shen Yun, a rigorous and disciplined dance celebration of Chinese culture began, so too did the CCP’s desire to extinguish it, while profiteering from organ harvesting.
Shen Yun is viewed as a religious movement by the CCP, which rejects all forms of religion. Whether Shen Yun is religious or not, it is garnering overwhelming support all over the world. First and foremost, it is a celebration of Chinese culture but as people who attend the shows become more inquisitive, they will learn more about what’s going on in China. In many ways, dancing is itself fighting persecution as the demand to see Shen Yun skyrockets, so too does the knowledge base of what the CCP is doing to its citizens through persecution.
Shen Yun is forbidden on mainland China. What is not is organ harvesting of Falun Gong.
