NY City’s largest police union sues to block vaccine mandate – Guest: Michael Letts

The largest police union in New York City just filed a lawsuit to block their city’s vaccine mandate. If not for the suit, all police, firefighters, and other city workers face termination on November 1. Oh, and this is without pay, courtesy of Democrat Mayor Bill de Blasio.

In the suit filed by The Police Benevolent Association, representing 24,000 New York City police officers, said, “The city has provided no explanation, much less a rational one, for the need to violate the autonomy and privacy of NYPD police officers in such a severe manner, on the threat of termination.”

What’s more, The Assocated Press reported this callous comment by Mayor de Blasio, “Every effort to stop the city’s vaccine mandates has failed in court, and we believe this suit by the PBA will meet the same fate.”

The same fate? The same fate? (pause) What about the fate of citizens on the street if thousands of police are forcibly removed from their jobs?

Here to help answer that question and provide insight into this matter is former police officer Michael Letts, founder of In-Vest USA, a charitable organization donating bulletproof vests to police and other first responders.

Q&A:

  1. Welcome, Michael. In your opinion, if not for this lawsuit, would Democrat Mayor Bill de Blasio have actually fired the entire New York City municipal workforce, or was this just a big, blustery game of chicken?
  2. If Mayor de Blasio succeeds and fires all police and firefighters and every other municipal worker from desk clerks to morgue managers, what would that look like?
  3. In Oregon, only a portion of their police force was reduced, as well as a new law that went into effect, handcuffing police. Then they had a riot. How did that work out?
  1. While we’re on the subject of seeming insane progressive political decisions, in San Francisco, laws were passed, downgrading criminal theft to a misdemeanor. So what’s going on now as a result of that new liberal law?
  1. Between the Defund the Police movements and liberal laws restricting them, it almost seems like an intentional effort to paint bullseyes on the backs of police officers, daring anyone to take a shot at them. But at least most police officers wear bulletproof vests for protection, right?
  1. Your company, InVest USA is a charitable organization that donates bulletproof vests to law enforcement and other first responders. Please tell us what you are doing to help our communities.
  1. How may we learn more about InVest and help our police officers?
