Founder of Reconnecting Ministries Grant Berry discusses the power and reach his 30-second ad urging people to speak up against Jewish hate.
This year’s Super Bowl has come to a close, but it served as the home for several memorable television ads, viewed by millions of people. However, New England Patriots’ chairman Robert Kraft didn’t want to create just any regular commercial for the big event.
The commercial, which can be seen here, features Dr. Clarence B. Jones, draft speech writer for Martin Luther King Jr. In it, he reflects on how hate thrives on one thing – silence. “The people who will change the mission are those that speak out,” he notes as various people show their support for those fighting against Jewish hate.
While the ad, which was paid for by Kraft’s Foundation to Combat Antisemitism and cost $7 million, found a tremendous outreach, not everyone was receptive of it. Some believe that the introduction of a political theme during a sports event wasn’t needed, while others, obviously, preferred to voice their hatred as a whole on social media.
