Murder in Samaria: Confusion in Washington Guest: David Rubin

The past week in Israel saw two Palestinian Muslim terror attacks in the hills of Samaria – one in which a young Jewish family’s car was bombarded by a rock attack, in which their two young children were left with glass shards in their eyes. The second attack was a shooting attack in which a young Israeli father was murdered while returning home from a day of religious studies.

These two attacks occurred shortly after a left-wing member of the Israeli Knesset, quoting the US State Department, had decried what he called “settler violence,” referring, of course, to the much-maligned Jews who live in Judea and Samaria, the so-called West Bank.

Given these two terror attacks, one has to wonder from where the State Department gets its information.

Here to discuss is David Rubin, former Mayor of the town of Shiloh, which is in the heart of Samaria, where that murder occurred, and author of “Confronting Radicals: What America Can Learn From Israel”.

Q&A:

  1. Why is it that here in America we don’t hear about these terror attacks? For the answer to that question, you would have to ask the heads of the American media outlets. Perhaps Israelis being murdered by Palestinians isn’t considered news, or perhaps it doesn’t fit the far-left narrative about the so-called “oppressed Palestinians”. But the attacks on Israeli civilians are certainly not an illusion. Terrorism is real and terrorism is painful.
  2. Are attacks of this kind frequent and how do we explain the State Department’s focus on what it calls “settler violence”? The State Department is being fed by the  Palestinian Authority and their leftist allies in the Biden administration. During the Trump administration, we weren’t hearing such ignorant statements from the State Department. And yes, the attacks are frequent and clearly increasing in frequency every day.
  3. Why is this happening now? Terrorist organizations take their cues from the politicians. If the Biden State Department sends millions to the Palestinian Authority, which pays monthly stipends to every terrorist who kills an Israeli civilian, and most ignore or minimalize or even justify these attacks, terrorists are encouraged to launch more attacks.
  4. So, what you are saying is to follow the chain of events? Yes, there is a direct radical line from the leftists in the Biden administration to the Palestinian Authority, to the terrorists, and to the actual attacks. But of course, we can close our eyes like Ilhan Omar and all of her leftist friends, and complain about the so-called “oppressed” Palestinians, and the “colonialist” Israelis. And if we say it enough people might believe it, despite the actual history that tells the truth about Israel’s deep roots in the Land of Israel. But that’s how propaganda works. The Palestinian Muslims Western mainstream media and the secular leftists are masters at the same game.

  1. In your book, “Confronting Radicals: What America Can Learn From Israel”, you compared the propaganda of Muslim extremists with the propaganda of the secular Left.
