Law enforcement veteran Michael Letts is pleased with the actions by the House Committee, but there’s still work to be done.
I’ve been saying it for the past couple of years now – we have a real problem with President Joe Biden being in the White House.
I mean, what he’s done to our police forces is already criminal enough. Over the past couple of years, he’s made absolutely no traction in getting them properly funded after the “defund the police” fiasco. And now, as a result, we’re seeing all-time high criminal surges across various states, including New York, Chicago, Seattle, Denver and Portland.
But then you’ve got his reported actions surrounding his son, Hunter Biden. Possibly interfering in overseas affairs with the likes of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and others. Not to mention whatever his son has on his infamous laptop. Notice how the people looking into that haven’t had much to say?
That said, Kevin McCarthy has seen enough. On the verge of an unnecessary government shutdown that’s set to take place this month, McCarthy has finally stepped forward and announced that an official impeachment inquiry for Biden is underway.
“House Republicans have uncovered serious and credible allegations into President Biden’s conduct,” he noted. “Taken together, these allegations paint a picture of a culture of corruption.”
He continued, “Today, I am directing our House Committee to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. This logical next step will give our committees the full power to gather all the facts and answers for the American public.”
This. This is something I’ve been saying for the longest time. Ol’ Joe has been keeping absolutely quiet about his goings-on with Hunter, not to mention his storage of private documents in his home. If you recall, Trump was doing something similar, and the FBI had no trouble invading his Mar-a-Lago estate and taking boxes of evidence with them. But not Joe, obviously.
Of course, the Biden administration has already called this move “extreme politics at its worst.” In a follow-up, White House spokesman for oversight and investigations Ian Sims noted, “House Republicans have been investigating the President for nine months, and they’ve turned up no evidence of wrongdoing. His own GOP members have said so. He vowed to hold a vote to open impeachment, now he flip-flopped because he doesn’t have support.”
That’s not entirely accurate, Sims. First off, evidence has surfaced, you just refuse to acknowledge it because the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are so quick to dismiss it. And secondly, any inquiry made into getting answers on the Biden matter have been swiftly turned away, without any sort of response. GOP or not.
Not to mention that the agency noted the large number of emails that were rumored to have been sent by Biden under false accounts while he was serving as vice president under Barack Obama. Not exactly what you call presidential behavior, now is it?
And, as I stated, this comes on the verge of two things. The first is a potential government shutdown looming for the end of the month, which Biden doesn’t seem too heavily content in resolving. (And, again, that does not help our police officers that are just struggling to make a living in today’s climate.)
Then there’s the Presidential Election, in which ol’ Joe is likely to focus less on his flaws and instead more on his false promises to make life better for people – something he has failed to do over the past few years. I mean, inflation? Rising criminal activity? And covering up this corruption for the state of making his image still look strong? Give me a break.
I hope McCarthy and his Committee find enough here to actually make some real traction. That said, though, there’s still a world of work ahead of the impeachment. Not only will it face a Senate vote that requires a majority in order to pass, but I think a military impeachment may be the only way we can truly get him out of office. Unless he loses next year’s election, of course. Wishful thinking.
