The law enforcement veteran explains why the Biden administration’s new program is anything but beneficial.
In an effort to boost hype for Kamala Harris’ bid for the Presidency last week, President Joe Biden and his Administration recently launched an “amnesty program” set to help out certain illegal immigrants. But many believe that it has major flaws that could push the Border Crisis even further.
The program, called “Keeping Families Together,” notes that “Noncitizens who are present in the United States without admission or parole may be considered for parole in place under this process.” That means “being legally authorized to be in the country with a green card, visa or other reasons.”
But there’s a big problem. According to Andrew Arthur, who serves at the Center of Immigration Studies, “This is a massive amnesty that Congress never authorized.”
Speaking with Fox News, Arthur explained, “Under a Harris-Walz administration, everybody in the country illegally could eventually be eligible for a process like this. It would hold Republicans’ feet to the fire to undo it thereafter, but as we’ve seen with DACA (Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals), administrative amnesties are difficult to undo.”
Even illegal immigrants in the middle of removal proceedings could be subject to parole with this new process.
