Jury Finds Trump Guilty on All 34 Counts (Guest: Steve Strang)

A New York Jury found former president Donald Trump guilty on all 34 felony charges of falsifying business records related to hush money payments prior to the 2016 presidential election.  Even prior to the jury announcement, Trump called this a “very sad day for America.”  After, he called it a “rigged, disgraceful” trial.

Donald Trump is the first U.S. president with a criminal conviction and will be the first major party candidate to run for the White House as a convicted felon.

We now await sentencing, which could be anything from a fine to jail time. Each count carries a maximum prison sentence of four years. But first, it is very likely trump will appeal the verdict.

Steve Strang, CEO of Charisma Media and author of Trump Aftershock: The President’s Seismic Impact on Faith and Culture, can examine the shocking verdict.

Welcome, Steve.

Q&A:

1.  Does this verdict surprise you?

2. What the team for Donald Trump do wrong here, if anything?

3. Why all 34? What does that say?

4. Why did it take two days for this jury to come to this decision?

5. What do you make of the jury request to have testimony from Michael Cohen and David Pecker read back to them on day two of deliberations?

6. Do you agree with Trump that, even before the decision, this is a “very sad day for America?”

7. What happens now? Is there a real chance he could face time in prison?

8. How do you think this will affect the presidential race?

9. Polls indicated a guilty verdict wouldn’t impact the race. But does 34 counts change that?

10. Does America have a short memory? Will they think about this come November?

11. You interviewed Donald Trump for your book. What was your impression of him? Does it surprise you that they have gone after him so vigorously?

12. Where can we pick up a copy of your book, Trump Aftershock?
