The founder of El Shaddai Ministries is a bit concerned that more hasn’t been done to get more hostages released.
It’s been approximately one year since the last deal between Israel and Hamas was made for hostages, with 105 of them being released in that period. Since then, however, there has been a great deal of disappointment that a similar deal hasn’t been reached for the rest.
Isaac Herzog, who serves as the 11th President of Israel, expressed his disappointment in the lack of a deal on Sunday afternoon, believing that failure to free the rest of the hostages could leave what he calls “lasting trauma” on the country.
“We must understand and internalize that if we do not bring them home, we will be left with a bleeding, open wound that will forever burn our souls as a society and as a nation,” Herzog noted.
Herzog has had conversations with current U.S. President Joe Biden, as well as forthcoming U.S. President Donald Trump, about a number of solutions. He feels that returning the hostages is “the highest and most binding order between a state and its citizens.”
But the real question is if a deal can be made, especially with the war between Israel and Hamas/Hezbollah becoming more devastating than ever before.
Joining us now to discuss this further is Pastor Mark Biltz, an author and the founder and Senior Pastor of El Shaddai Ministries in Washington State. His experience should prove useful in this conversation. Welcome, Mark.
