Israel Gives a Deadline For Gaza Ground Offensive In Rafah – So What Happens Next? (Guest: David Rubin)

Former Mayor of Shiloh David Rubin discusses the latest initiative announced by Israel, and the impact that could come from it.

Israel has reached a breaking point with Hamas and the hostages it’s currently keeping, and, as a result, has provided an ultimatum.

Israeli war cabinet member Benny Gantz recently noted that Hamas has until the 10th of March to release all its hostages. If it fails to do so, a huge offensive is set to launch in Rafah.

Gantz noted, “The world must know, and Hamas leaders must know – if by Ramadan our hostages are not home, the fighting will continue everywhere, to include the Rafah area.”

He also assured that Israel will act in a “coordinated manner, facilitating the evacuation of civilians in dialogue with our American and Egyptian partners to minimize civilian casualties.”

So what happens now? Joining us to discuss this further is David Rubin, former mayor of Shiloh, Israel, and Founder of the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund. Welcome, Mayor Rubin.

Q&A:

  1. What do you think about the ultimatum delivered by Gantz? Do you believe Hamas will listen, or will they simply push forward with their plans?
  2. Do you think this ultimatum was needed when it came to Israel pushing back against Hamas?
  3. What will this mean for the Palestinians living in Rafah?
  4. There are reports indicating that the United States could try to fight Israel regarding its deadline for Rafah. Would there be consequences in doing so? Do you believe it seems odd they would object?
  5. Do you believe the Israel/Hamas conflict will get focus during the 2024 Presidential Election in America later this year?
  6. Tell us more about the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund, and where people can go to support those in need.
