How Much Worse Will Things Get For New York In 2024? (Guest: Michael Letts)

The law enforcement veteran discusses the collapsing state of the iconic city, including the government’s refusal to hire more police officers.

New York has seen finer days.

What used to be the “city so nice, they named it twice” has now fallen into disruption. Thousands of officers have either retired or resigned from duty from the New York Police Department due to poor treatment; crime has reached an all-time high; and a migrant crisis now has the city trying to find the budget to control the problem.

And it just keeps getting worse. Two girls were stabbed inside Grand Central Station this week by a man who wanted “white people dead”; and officials have made it clear they’re losing faith in Mayor Eric Adams’ inability to handle the migrant crisis, along with the recent hiring freeze on police officers to free up the budget to fight back.

Can the city be saved? And if so, what steps can be taken to save it? Joining us now to discuss the matter further is Michael Letts, a law enforcement veteran with over 30 years of experience under his belt. Letts is President, Founder and CEO of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable groups and sponsorships.

His expertise in all things law and order make him a perfect subject for this topic.

Q&A:

  1. Why do you think so many police officers are leaving the NYPD in droves? Is it due to the poor decision making by Mayor Eric Adams and Governor Kathy Hochul? Or is it something else?
  2. How bad would you say the criminal element is in the city of New York right now?
  3. Why do you think Adams is unable to get a better handling of the migrant crisis taking place in New York? Is it mainly due to the lack of police officers?
  4. What can New York do to turn things around in 2024? Or can anything even be done at this rate?
  5. Let’s say you were in charge of an initiative to bring more police officers to the NYPD. How would you go about it?
  6. You’re the creator of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable groups and sponsorships. Tell us more about that, and why support for fellow officers is so important right now.
  7. Where can we learn more about InVest USA, and how those interested can help their fellow officers.
  8. You can visit our official InVest USA website, and learn more on the official Invest USA Twitter account. You can also learn about my new initiative at RestoringJustice.US, where we discuss lawful issues surrounding citizens of the United States.
