God Holds Parents Responsible For What Their Children Are Being Taught, According To Author Dr. Erwin Lutzer

There seem to be more and more arguments as of late when it comes to what children are being taught in schools, with some states and administrations even going as far as to alter certain programs to be rid of “woke” content. But author Dr. Erwin Lutzer, writer of No Reason To Hide: Standing For Christ In a Collapsing Culture, it ultimately comes down to parents obtaining responsibility on what their children are taught.

“I received a letter from a school teacher who chided me for exposing the ‘Compressive Curriculum’ because he said they do not teach this in his school,” Lutzer explained in a statement. “He said there are enough like-minded teachers in his school who are fair, they are not driven by the sexual curriculum, etc. I accepted what he said, though I believe it is a rarity.”

“That said, parents need to be warned, if possible, they must home-school their children (and there are variations of this) or a faith-based school. If these options are impossible, they must work with their teachers, the school boards, and so on as we have seen in Virginia.

“Sadly, we no longer have public schools but government schools intended to undermine the role of parents, and we must face that reality.”

Lutzer joins us now to discuss his comments further, and why he’s lost so much faith in our school system.

Q&A:

  1. You’ve expressed concern in the past about how some school boards aren’t really interested in listening to parents and want to follow their own agenda. Why do you think this is set up this way?
  2. You’ve also noted that that there’s such an emphasis on the teaching of sexuality to children. What concerns you the most about this?
  3. As you’ve voiced in a previous statement, you prefer home-schooling methods to public schools. But what advice can you offer to those that can’t afford home-schooling at the moment (mainly due to the world’s economy)?
  4. Do you believe anything can be done to change public schools for the better?
  5. There seems to be a growing divide on what can be taught in schools these days, with some states even interfering with educational agenda. Do you believe that the more involved politics become with schools, the worse education can become?
  6. Your book No Reason To Hide: Standing For Christ In a Collapsing Culture, takes a look at the divide between the truth of the Bible and what’s happening with “the world’s lies.” What motivated you to write this book, and why would you recommend it to readers?
  7. Where can interested parties read your book?

It’s available digitally here (on both Kindle and audiobook); and is also available in print form here.
