The EMP (Electro Magnetic Pulse) weapon is a catastrophic war strategy, and it is rapidly becoming the preferred war strategy of some of our most radicalized enemies. MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) may not work, and many of our experts believe an EMP event is a looming event. Some believe that North Korea may already have an EMP weapon on board one of its two satellites.
Our government and military have already defended their critical infrastructures, but the people have been left exposed? Hardening has never happened, and we have to ask ourselves: Why? And is it time for the alternative countermeasure to be embraced?
Our guest says that on-site shielding at our homes and within our communities is our only hope. He’s developed the SAFE STATE Countermeasure, he’s established the SAFE STATE Project, and he’s written a novel called SAFE STATES that exposes the extreme difference between a defended America and no defense at all.
Q&A:
- Why haven’t we had any advancement on hardening our critical infrastructures?
Answer: Many reasons. The big roadblock is a bipartisan government, and we don’t have that. The new political agendas have taken precedence over our basic safety and survival, and hardening will never happen under the current equation. We believe the answer is a combination of local shielding and national hardening. If we act at the local level, we can defend our families while our government is absent, and if we act, perhaps we can sway the needle and compel a 2-pronged approach. Local shielding and national hardening at an “achievable” level is the only way we can survive modern day.
- What is shielding? Is this the alternative countermeasure?
Answer: Yes. Shielding is nothing more than preserving a set of backup parts in a faraday cage. A Faraday cage is a special metal box (or enclosure) that shields the electronic equipment that’s stored inside from EMP. It’s a low-cost/high-confidence defense, and when its combined with community survival standards, everybody in the community (or city, or state) can survive together. Originally, we developed these standards for certain air carrier infrastructures so they could survive an EMP, and so they could operate together as an organized force. It’s nothing more than a simple plan, and simple plans work, and America needs one quickly.
- Why is EMP such a growing threat? Why would North Korea or Iran want to use this against us?
Answer: It’s the only way for them to “win” the war. They can’t win with a single nuclear strike that destroys “one or two” of our cities. America would suffer, but our grids and supply chains would still function, and the people would unite and overcome. Plus, the attacking nations would be destroyed. So… a nuclear strike on America by these types of nations would fail on all counts, but not with an EMP. And if they can win with a single EMP attack, MAD may not stop them. It’s the Bank Robber mentality. If they can get the cash, consequences are secondary. And that’s the problem.
- What is the SAFE STATE Project? And tell us about your book, SAFE STATES.
Answer: The SAFE STATE Project is nationwide platform that unites all Americans with a 3-step plan that defends our homes and communities. It gets us all on the same page, so that if our grids do go down, we can all communicate, organize, and survive together. It’s a rudimentary backup, but if we have it secured, we can live normally, and we can secure America. If the grids are destroyed, we can rebuild them, and that’s what the novel is about.
SAFE STATES is the story of us. It contemplates the divided America we live in today, and it exposes the brutal truth about the conundrum we’re discussing now. What would happen if only half of America defended its communities and states? Would it be enough to save America? And what would it be like to be defended by the SAFE STATE Countermeasure? Worse yet, what would it be like to have no defense at all, and no hope of surviving. It’s a terrible story, but it’s wonderful too, and it shows us what it takes to defend our freedom.
