Spokesman Stephen Willeford discusses the group’s major wins over the past twelve months – and what comes next.
2024 was a tough year when it came to the rights of those that want to bear arms, particularly with certain states trying to revoke said rights and the ATF invoking certain rules.
However, the Gun Owners of America recently discussed the accomplishments made over the past year, especially when it comes to defending said rights.
“The mission of Gun Owners Foundation is to protect, preserve and defend our Second Amendment rights through litigation and education,” the group noted.
“And over the past twenty months, our supporters have helped us win two remarkable injunctions against President Biden’s unconstitutional ban on pistol braces, and against Biden’s Engaged in the Business rule that would make many or most private firearms sales illegal.
Gun Owners Foundation also filed an impressive 24 amicus curiae (friend of the court) briefs in 2024 alone in cases ranging from supporting challenges to so-called ‘assault weapons’ bans and Gun-Free Zones to opposing the legal attack by the Mexican government against U.S. gun maker Smith & Wesson.”
Joining us now to discuss the 2024 accomplishments is Stephen Willeford, who currently serves as spokesman for the Gun Owners of America. Stephen is the “hero with a gun” from the Sutherland Springs incident in 2017, which he has since co-written a book about. We welcome him to the show!
