Law enforcement veteran Michael Letts and retired Lt. Col. Robert Maginnis discuss the implications from the claim.
The news was buzzing earlier this week that Ukraine had successfully launched a military strike that resulted in the death of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet commander Admiral Viktor Sokolov, as well as 33 of his fellow servicemen. Many claimed this was a victorious moment for Ukraine, adding further heft to its recent deal to receive billions of dollars in military assistance from the United States.
That said, however, he isn’t actually dead. A new report from Reuters revealed that Sokolov recently appeared on Russian state television as part of a defense leaders’ remote meeting, indicating that the report was false.
Backing up on their previous report, the Ukraine special forces noted on Telegram, “Since the Russians were urgently forced to publish a response with Sokolov allegedly alive, our units are clarifying the information.”
This news comes just days after President Joe Biden had announced that the United States would provide further “security assistance” to Ukraine, with a military package valued at $325 million. And it appears there could be billions more where that came from.
Which begs the question – was the Ukraine trying to impress the United States with its quick report on Sokolov? Was it misinformation to show off its growing military might in its battle with Russia?
Joining us to discuss this matter further is one of two experts on the matter.
Michael Letts is a law enforcement veteran with over 30 years of experience under his belt. Letts serves as President, Founder and CEO of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable groups and sponsorships.
Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Robert Maginnis is the author of the book Divided We Stand: The Globalist Scheme For a One-World Government.
Their expertise will certainly provide more background on this matter.
Q&A:
- Do you believe Ukraine was premature in getting this announcement out, in the hopes of building confidence amongst its own military forces?
- What does this say about the effectiveness of Ukrainian forces against Russia, especially with the U.S. providing support with 31 Abrams tanks?
- Previously, Biden had promised to send Kyiv long range ATACMS. How will that become a factor in helping out Ukraine against Russia. Could this actually be a game changer for the way they attack ground targets?
- It was previously noted by many that the Russia/Ukraine war appears to be a stalemate, along the lines of World War I trench warfare. Can you go into more detail about this?
- With this fight still likely set to continue, could it spill over into NATO and possibly involve other countries, such as how the United States is helping Ukraine?
- What do you see happening next between Russia and Ukraine? Is there a possibility that misinformation could play a part in the future at some point (if it hasn’t enough already)?
