Could Iran Be Planning an Airstrike Following an Israeli Attack? (Guest: David Rubin)

The former Mayor of Shiloh discusses the possibility of a counterattack that could widen the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.

A strike on the Iranian consulate could very well escalate the ongoing fight between Israel and Hamas.

Per this report from The Guardian, Iran has promised revenge for the strike, in which Israeli war planes took down the consulate in Damascus. As a result of said strike, at least 11 people were killed, including a senior commander for the al-Quds force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).

Because of this, the United States and several allies have noted that a major missile or drone strike could be delivered by Iran as soon as the next several days, ready to strike certain government targets in Israel. This strike could result in a number of casualties, and may even escalate the ongoing war even further.

Intel believes that the assault could use high-precision missiles, though a final target hasn’t been confirmed just yet.

Israel officials have yet to respond to the reports, so all eyes are on Iran to see what happens next.

Should Israel be concerned, or, at the very least, prepare for such an attack? Here to speak to us about the matter is David Rubin, former mayor of Shiloh, Israel, and Founder of the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund. Welcome, Mayor Rubin. Welcome, David!

Q&A:

  1. What do you think about Iran potentially setting up a counterattack following the destruction of its consulate?
  2. Do you believe Netanyahu and officials need to set up some sort of initiative in case of such an attack? Or are they taking a “wait and see” approach?
  3. Could such a counterattack result in an even larger battle between Israel and Hamas in the months ahead?
  4. Could the counterattack possibly set up even more criticism of Netanyahu by President Joe Biden and his allies?
  5. Is there any way to de-escalate the matter at this point? Could Netanyahu possibly still hold negotiations with Hamas, in spite of what happened?
  6. Tell us more about the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund, and how it’s helping out those in need.
  7. Where can we learn more about you and the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund?
