Inflation has surged so quickly under the current administration that many are calling it Bidenflation. And it’s showing no signs of stopping.
The rate of U.S. inflation recently topped eight percent in March, the highest that it’s been in four decades. In addition, the consumer price index jumped 8.5 percent over the past month, mainly due to the rising cost of housing, gas, and food, among other items. That marks the highest increase since March 1982. (Back them, inflation was 8.4 percent.) That means a 1.2 percent increase in the one-month period from January.
Blake Harbin, who serves as CEO of Houzzle Financial, made note of just how startling these numbers really are. “Under President Biden, energy costs have risen 32 percent, gas prices are nearly 50 percent higher than they used to be, and inflation has literally inflated to the highest it’s been in ages. It’s startling and leaves you wondering if there’s any end in sight.”
Harbin joins us now to discuss the troubling inflation numbers and if anything can be done about them.

- Inflation has risen quite a bit over the past year, and doesn’t appear to show any signs of stopping. Biden notes that it’s mainly due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, but what other factors do you believe tie into this?
- What do you believe is the leading cause of this inflation? Demand over supply? Or something more?
- Can anything be done to slow inflation to the point that Americans can breathe a little easier?
- You recently announced that you’re running for Georgia’s Congressional seat. Tell us what you hope to do if you win the nomination, and what you intend to do towards this growing inflation.
