Armed Citizens Aided Wounded Lawmen, so what do liberal lawmakers do? Guests: Second Amendment Foundation

They push for MORE Gun Control!

Heroic armed citizens aided wounded lawmen in Washington State. Upon discovery of this remarkably successful use of 2nd Amendment rights, what do you suppose the response was from liberal lawmakers? A medal of honor? A reward? No! They proposed MORE gun control! That way, next time cops might not have a fighting chance.

Joining us in this discussion is an outraged representative from The Second Amendment Foundation.

Q&A:

  1. Did we hear this correctly? Citizens in Washington state came to the rescue of wounded police officers, and lawmakers responded by proposing MORE restrictions on private ownership of firearms?

Answer: Yes, that is correct. In Washington State, Washington DC, and in New York City, where Joe Biden was recently pushing for additional restrictions on gun owners, repealing the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, and banning so-called “assault weapons” and original capacity magazines.

  1. Tell us about the information campaign you are waging to counter current gun control initiatives.

Answer: We have been running an informational campaign explaining Biden’s gun control agenda. We are using Biden’s own words against him. Biden said during a CNN Townhall broadcast, “Whether it is a 9mm pistol or a rifle, it is ridiculous. I am continuing to push to eliminate the sale of those things.”

  1. A Rasmussen poll recently asked about gun control. Tell us the findings of that survey.

Answer: The Rasmussen poll showed that only 42 percent of Americans want stricter gun control laws, while 49 percent say such laws aren’t necessary. The same survey found that 54 percent think enforcement of existing laws will reduce gun-related violent crime, while 26 percent want new gun laws and 18 percent aren’t sure. The survey also breaks down sentiments along party lines, revealing 69 percent of Republicans, 53 percent of Independents, and even 28 percent of Democrats say the country does not need stricter gun laws.

  1. Regardless of the people being more for gun rights than against, you don’t believe that should be the only deciding factor. Why is that?

Answer: Because the right to bear arms is enshrined in the 2nd Amendment of the United States. Constitutional law rules the day, not the swaying wind of public opinion. But it is nice to have public opinion on our side also.

  1. Your organization emphasizes the importance of gun safety and proper training. Could you elaborate on those areas, please?
  1. Tell us more about the Second Amendment Foundation? And where may we get more information on gun safety and training?

Answer: The Second Amendment Foundation is the nation’s oldest and largest tax-exempt education, research, publishing, and legal action group focusing on the Constitutional right and heritage to own and possess firearms privately. Founded in 1974, The Foundation has grown to more than 700,000 members and supporters and conducts many programs designed to better inform the public about the negative consequences of gun control. Our website is SAF.org.
