Antifa Trades Transitions from Firebombs to Litigation and Legislation (Guest: Jim Harden)

With physical attacks on pro-life medical centers garnering too much public sympathy for pro-life entities, Antifa has altered their method for attacking pro-life expression – trading firebombs for legislation and litigation.

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker recently signed a law that would impose $50,000 fines and possible loss of non-profit status to any pro-life entities – including pregnancy centers – that engage in “deceptive practices” and “misinformation.” Yet the law did not clearly define what qualifies as deceptive practices or misinformation, leaving enforcement of the law to the Attorney General through the Department of Consumer Affairs.

IL, NY, and other blue states are now working toward the same goal, using the same rhetoric, as pro-abortion Antifa, consistently trying to attack and criminalize pro-life medical centers and pro-life speech.

In a recent press statement, CompassCare CEO Jim Harden noted, “Pro-abortion politicians are vilifying pro-life people and terrorizing them with legislatively-enabled witch hunts, circumventing the justice system, and threatening fines for activities protected by the First Amendment and supported by science—all while using the exact same rhetoric as pro-abortion domestic terrorists echoed [through their] media monopoly.”

Rev. Harden continues, “I told the world on Tucker Carlson’s former Fox show last summer that the Democrat Party’s new KKK is Jane’s Revenge—an Antifa front group. Every time bureaucrats baselessly investigate and maliciously drag a pro-life person or organization through the mire of their pro-abortion rhetoric, they prove this unsettling point.”

Harden also believes such legislation is serving as a smokescreen in an effort to protect what he deems a “criminal abortion industry.”

“When you are delivered up to court, as Jesus said we would be, for living out your faith, protecting the oppressed and orphaned, stand firm,” Rev. Harden says to pro-life people facing threats. “Show how pro-life pregnancy centers are the only ethical alternative to the unethical and fraudulent abortion industry. Use the opportunity to teach the nations why everyone, everywhere ought to be pro-life. Every person is made in the image of God, equally valuable.”

He concluded, “As Martin Luther King Jr. said, ‘Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.’”

Joining us now is Rev. Jim Harden to discuss the matter further.

Q&A:

  1. Why would Illinois put together such a law that fines statements made by pro-life entities?
  2. How does this compare to the Pregnancy Center Investigation Act that NY Gov. Kathy Hochul signed in New York last year?
  3. NY Gov. Hochul’s Investigation Bill, as of you put, died “on the vine”? Tell us more about this.
  4. You pointed out that Antifa’s tactics have shifted from physical to legal and legislative attacks. Is there coordination between the attackers and why would they make this shift?
  5. For pro-life entities finding themselves under these kinds of attacks, what strategy would you give them to emerge from the fight victorious?
  6. Most Republican Presidential candidates have spoken about abortion at this point in the race. How can they join the fight to protect not only pro-life medical centers but women and babies?
  7. Different candidates have different positions on when to stop abortion. A 21-week, or “viability,” ban saves approximately 1% of babies; a 6-week “heartbeat” abortion ban saves about 54% of babies; a personhood position personhood saves nearly all. What position is appropriate for a President, or any elected official, to hold and act upon?
  8. Where can people go to learn more about CompassCare?
