Actor Vince Vaughn Has a Solid Point When It Comes to People Being Able to Own Guns

A spokesman for the Second Amendment Foundation believes the Wedding Crashers actor is on to something when it comes to people’s rights.

A lot of people have mixed opinions on guns these days. But many believe that Americans have the right to own them, as provided by the Second Amendment.

Among these people is Vince Vaughn, who recently spoke with the New York Times on the subject. He said he “supports people having a gun in public full stop, not just in your home.”

This comes on the heels of the highest count of “active shooter” events in the United States we’ve seen in years, with some Concealed-Carry citizens able to stop them in their tracks. Of course, many anti-gun advocates will say otherwise, deeming such a practice as a threat.

Vaughn noted, “I definitely am a believer more in allowing individuals to make choices. So I think that drugs should be legal and people should have guns.”

He continued, “Then the hunters would say, ‘We have these guns, and we have a right to defend ourselves and what’s the big deal?’”

He also discussed the idea of gun ownership as a whole, noting, “the basic idea is that the individual is free and has a right to protect themselves.”

Obviously there are some that disagree, but Vaughn makes a noble point about the right to own guns. A spokesman for the Second Amendment Foundation joins us now to discuss the matter further.

Q&A:

  1. Do you believe Vaughn makes a solid point when it comes to Americans being able to own guns? Even if some disagree with the notion?
  2. Why aren’t more politicians thinking this way, you think? Possible influence from President Biden, perhaps?
  3. Vaughn seems very outspoken when it comes to his gun-owning rights. Is it possible he could face scrutiny from fellow actors? Or is it something that he’s shouldn’t be too concerned about?
  4. How much of a factor will gun control play when it comes to the forthcoming Presidential Election? Could Kamala Harris serve as a threat to certain gun rights?
  5. Where can we learn more about the Second Amendment Foundation?
