Abortion Pill Ban Likely Headed to U.S. Supreme Court (Guest: Randall Terry)

Executive summary/ short intro: The abortion pill that was banned by a Texas Judge but reversed in part in a federal appeals court is now likely headed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

This means that women, for now, can purchase the mifepristone pill again, pending the high court ruling that likely will oppose the pill, consistent with their ruling that overturned Roe vs. Wade less than one year ago.

The abortion pill has surpassed the number of surgical procedures for abortions, and it is easily and unlawfully shipped to states where abortions are illegal. This makes it easy for women to bypass the Roe vs. Wade reversal, albeit illegally, terminating their pregnancy in their own homes.

Apart from legal and moral concerns, is taking the pill safe? Helping us gain perspective on these issues is our guest, Randall Terry, founder of the pro-life group Operation Rescue and producer of the upcoming documentary, Dragonslayers, chronicling the largest peaceful civil disobedience movement in U.S. history.

Q&A:
1. What do you make of these whirlwind decisions on abortion? Less than one year since the U.S. Supreme Court reversed Roe vs. Wade, banning abortions, some states have reversed that reversal, and courts have banned and unbanned the abortion pill.
2. Why do you think Texas Judge Rice acted so quickly to contravene the decision passed down by Texas surrounding the FDA’s actions? And why did the appellate court reverse that decision so quickly? And do you think the Supreme Court will hear this matter?
3. Walgreens has pulled the abortion pill from its stores in Texas and some other Red States. Is it likely that they will put the pill back on the shelves?
4. You’ve previously noted how abortion pills are more dangerous than a surgical abortion procedure. If so, how much more dangerous?
5. California Governor Gavin Newsom has just announced that he has already purchased a quarter million abortion pills and has negotiated the purchase of up to 2 million more. He also tried unsuccessfully to have his state stop doing business with Walgreens due to their limiting abortion pill purchases. What do you make of that?
6. You are in the process of making a documentary on the largest civil disobedience movement in U.S. history. Tell us about that.
7. How may we help support your work and upcoming documentary?
