The law enforcement veteran discusses the actions of the local officer, and why they should be commended over the Secret Service.
Even though the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump took place several weeks ago, information continues to come out about what happened – and it appears that the Secret Service tried to take credit for what a local police officer did.
Per this report from The Epoch Times, a preliminary report requested by Rep. Clay Higgins (R-La.) revealed that the Secret Service did not shoot Thomas Crooks. Instead, it was a local law enforcement officer.
The shot specifically came from a Butler County Emergency Services Unit SWAT operator, who was stationed 100 yards away from the building where Crooks was located.
As Crooks was making his way across the rooftop of his building, Higgins noted that the officer was “running to a clear shot position directly into the line of fire while Crooks was firing.”
Higgins actually took a trip down to Butler County in an effort to recreate what had happened with the officer, who hit Crooks before Secret Service were able to take over.
But it leaves an important question – why did the Secret Service try to say they hit Crooks first? Was it something decided on by former Director Kimberly Cheatle, who resigned shortly after the incident? Or somewhere else?
