In the midst of discussions about potentially banning assault weaponry, a recent incident has made a clear argument about the power of concealed-carry amongst private citizens.
With this particular case, 80-year old liquor store owner Craig Cope, who is being hailed as a hero by the local community following his actions against recent robbers. When four criminals attempted to rob his store, Cope fought back, hitting one with a shotgun blast and sending the group running. One even said, “He shot my arm off!” as they made their escape. (The suspects were later arrested at a nearby hospital.)
Little did the police realize just what a hero Cope is. They found a stolen vehicle that the thieves had taken, loaded with a number of stolen firearms. They could’ve done far worse damage had it not been for Cope’s actions.
This activity not only shows a surprising amount of bravery, but also what armed citizens can do against criminals. Here to speak about this incident is Stephen Willeford.
