Georgia Governor Brian Kemp Is Signing Constitutional Carry Into Law Today

Georgia governor Brian Kemp is signing SB 419 Constitutional Carry into law today, April 12, 2022. The law will allow the citizens of Georgia to carry concealed weapons.

Yesterday (April 11, 2022), Joe Biden unveiled his proposed gun control measure, including banning ghost guns in what appears to be thinly-veiled exploitation of the recent Sacramento gang shootings.

Joining us in this dual firearms discussion is Blake Harbin, a manufacturer of firearm ammunition and a candidate for Congress in Georgia’s 6th District.

 Q&A:

  1. Welcome, Blake. Tell us about Georgia Governor Brian Kemp’s promise to sign the Constitutional Carry Senate Bill SB 319 into law, allowing concealed weapons to be carried without a permit.
Answer: Governor Kemp is keeping his promise and signing the measure into law in a signing ceremony on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at 3:30 pm ET at Gable’s Sporting Goods, 6250 Fairburn Road, Douglasville, Georgia 30134.
  • Do you believe allowing concealed weapons will reduce crime or escalate it, and why?

Answer: It will lower crime when criminals think twice before they try to stick up a clerk at a convenience store or rob a woman in an alley since they don’t know if their potential victim is packing deadly force. Statistically, Constitutional Carry lowers crime.

  • You are a manufacturer of ammunition, as well as a mortgage lender. Tell us about that dual career.                                                                                                                                    Answer: I am passionate about keeping manufacturing and jobs in America, leading me to buy an ammunition manufacturing business. However, I wanted to do more talk. So I put my own money into this cause to show supporters my seriousness in fixing this and other problems in our country.
  • Joe Biden wants to ban ghost guns. What are they, and why should they be banned?
Answer: They are allegedly firearms that cannot be traced because they lack serial numbers. The proposed measure will likely require firearms dealers to run background checks on buyers of firearms kits.
  • Considering how Joe Biden campaigned against gun rights, is this a surprise?
Answer: No. It’s no surprise. Joe Biden has been under pressure by the progressives from Day One of his administration to take some dramatic action on gun control, as he had promised on the campaign trail.
  • Have any of the recent shootings in the news involved so-called “ghost guns”?
Answer: YES. The Denver Channel reported on a Pennsylvania raid on a home in Northampton County that discovered “almost $1 million worth of methamphetamine, six ghost guns, and Nazi paraphernalia.” According to the report, investigators found 21.5 pounds of crystal meth “with a street value of $968,200” along with 1,275 “doses of fentanyl with a street value of $4,275.” There were also six “ghost guns” fully assembled and three “80 percent” unfinished receivers that were used to make these firearms. This comes only a day after Oregon lawmakers passed a gun control bill for the first time in several years and sent it to Democrat Gov. Kate Brown for signing. So, criminals will always find guns and gun parts regardless of legal bans.
  • Do you think if the Biden ban on ghost guns or firearm kits without serial numbers succeeds, he will stop or is this a foot in the door for more gun control?
Answer: It’s an opening ante that will lead to more. Every time a criminal commits a highly publicized firearm crime, more calls for gun control will be made. Count on it.
  • You are running for Congress in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District. Tell us why you are running and about some of your issues, including 2nd Amendment rights.
  • Where may we get more information about you and your issues?
