The former Mayor of Shiloh discusses the report, and why it’s facing heavy backlash for getting the facts wrong.
Many critics have expressed their opinions regarding Israel over the past year or so – but Amnesty International’s latest report could be the most damning yet.
The report indicates that Israel “has committed, and is continuing to commit genocide” in its going fight with Hamas and Hezbollah, as it believes it is unfairly punishing Palestinians.
However, many have claimed this report is way off base. Orde Kittrie, who serves as a law professor for Arizona State University, notes that Israel’s “policies and actions do not fit the legal definition of genocide.”
On top of that, he said that “accusers must prove Israel is killing Gaza civilians intentionally and simply because they are Palestinian rather than as an unfortunate consequence of Israeli self-defense against Hamas and its fighters.”
Danny Danon, who serves as Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, also criticized the report. “The only group to have ever shown bloodthirsty genocidal intent in this war is Hamas. With the support of Tehran, Hamas terrorists filmed themselves on October 7th executing, raping, pillaging and kidnapping their way through southern Israel.
“Israel never started this war, but Israel will never allow terrorists to get away with harming Israelis and Israel – and will do whatever it takes to bring back the 100 hostages still held in brutal captivity by Hamas.”
Former Mayor of Shiloh David Rubin joins us now to discuss the matter further. He also serves as Founder of the Shiloh Israel Children’s fund. We welcome him to the show.
