The pastor and author discusses the Biden Administration’s latest threat, and what kind of impact it can have on Israel’s fight with Iran.
At a crucial time where it’s serving as one of its biggest allies, the United States may soon be in a position where it has no choice but to stop helping Israel.
Per a report from Bloomberg, the Biden Administration recently warned Israel that it needs to take action of what it calls an “increasingly dire” humanitarian crisis within the Gaza Strip. And if it fails to do so within a 30 day time period, it may have no choice but to follow the law and cut off U.S. weapons going into the country.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken, alongside Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, delivered the stark warning in a letter earlier this week, sent directly to Israel Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Strategy Affairs Minister Ron Dermer.
The law in question surrounds countries that receive weapons from the U.S. to “facilitate and not arbitrarily deny, restrict, or otherwise impede” any humanitarian assistance.
In response, according to the Washington Post, Israel has denied that it has halted the “entry or coordination of humanitarian aid.” That said, the U.S. believes it’s being more than reasonable with its 30 day deadline, particularly with its schedule of U.S. weapon deliveries.
So what happens now? Will Israel have to take a closer look at what the U.S. calls its “humanitarian crisis”? And, for that matter, will Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have something to say?
Joining us now to discuss this further is Pastor Mark Biltz, an author and the founder and Senior Pastor of El Shaddai Ministries in Washington State. His experience should prove useful in this conversation. Welcome, Mark.
Q&A:
- Does the U.S. have the right to hold off weapon distribution to Israel based on its theory of what it calls a “humanitarian crisis”?
- Do you believe Israel is actually responsible for this “humanitarian crisis”? Or is it being wrongly blamed?
- Could Netanyahu have any kind of response over this situation?
- What would happen if the U.S. pulled out its weaponry support? Could this potentially serve as an advantage for Iran and Hezbollah?
- Where do you see the conflict between Israel and its enemies going in the months ahead? Could it get worse before it gets any better?
- You discuss something called the Tribulation quite often. Tell us more about it, and when you think it might take place.
