The pastor and author discusses the recent actions by the students, and why it continues to show a great divide, even in the United States.
The one year anniversary of when Hamas first attacked Israel came up earlier this week. And some students went all out to “celebrate” what took place that day, despite the hundreds of innocent deaths that came from it.
Several protests took place on Monday to commemorate the attack, with Columbia University being amongst the most noteworthy. Prior to the anniversary, the interim president announced new security measures and warning about groups preparing protests to spark violence.
With that, however, student protestors announced they were joining up with another, Within Our Lifetime, a group that has become known for vandalism with the city. With that, protestors also made it clear that they have no trouble violating school rules – or worse – to make themselves heard.
Several have taken to social media to note their “celebratory” terms, in which Mark David, host of 660 AM The Answer, noted in particular how this tone is “repulsive, as is the very concept of rallies of this type on this solemn day.”
Joining us now to discuss this further is Mark Biltz, author and pastor for El Shaddai Ministries. His knowledge on everything that’s happening within Israel makes him a great subject for this interview. Welcome, Mark!
Q&A:
- Why are so many students determined to protest against Israel, even if their intentions seem somewhat immoral?
- What are your thoughts on them protesting and celebrating what took place one year ago in Israel?
- What does this say about the state of the world as a whole, and the divide between Israel and Palestine protestors?
- Should tougher security measures be taken to avoid these protests? Or will these students continue to push forward, no matter what?
- Where do you see the conflict between Israel and Hamas (and for that matter, Hezbollah) going in the months ahead? Will the situation get worse before it gets better?
- You discuss something called the Tribulation quite often. Tell us more about it, and when you think it might take place.
- We understand we can see your sermons live online. Where can those interested go for further information?
