President Joe Biden has said for some time that he would not pardon his son should he be convicted of a felony related to buying a gun while a drug addict. Now that Hunter Biden has been convicted of three felonies, the President said he would accept the outcome of the trial.
Few expect him to keep his word because that isn’t a virtue this administration holds dear. And Wednesday, one day after the sentence was handed down, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked if the president is considering a commutation. She dodged it, noting there hasn’t been a sentencing yet.
And law enforcement veteran Michael Letts says Biden should absolutely commute his son, with one caveat: President Biden should also commute the sentences of “all the J6ers as well.”
