Genesis 123 Foundation founder Jonathan Feldstein discusses his latest opinion piece, which focuses on the growing friendship between the two groups – at just the right time.
At a time when Israel and Hamas are in the midst of a horrific fight, we’re starting to see two groups come together in a truly positive way.
Jonathan Feldstein, founder of the Genesis 123 Foundation, recently posted a new editorialthat discusses the growing support of Jewish people by Christians, noting, “this has never been a more significant time to do so, nor have we ever seen the outpouring of Christian support for Israel at this level.”
“Israeli Jews across the spectrum who never had anything to do with Christians and may have never even met a Christian are having the opportunity to see and experience the genuine warmth and support from Christians, in many cases, for the first time,” Feldstein notes, adding, “this is the first time since the Holocaust that we see Christians unequivocally standing up for Israel and the Jewish people in the face of such atrocities at this level.”
Feldstein sees this as an absolute game changer, at a time when Jewish people need it in the heart of Israel. “Perhaps, hopefully, an unintended consequence of all of this will be the realization among Israeli Jews that even with theological differences with our Christian friends, they are our friends, and we should engage in any opportunity to strengthen and reciprocate it.”
Feldstein joins us now to discuss his editorial further.
- Why is a bond between Jewish people and Christians more important than ever, you think?
- Is it possible we would’ve ever see such a bond come to light, mainly due to religious differences?
- You noted this is a “game changer” in terms of support. What kind of effect, if any, do you think it will have on the Israel/Hamas war?
- Do you think, now more than ever, we need to see more examples of this kind of kinship, despite differences between the groups?
- Tell us about the Genesis 123 Foundation.
- Answer: It is a nonprofit whose mission is to build bridges between Jews and Christians with Israel in ways that are new, unique, and meaningful.
