How Nona Ellington’s Personal Pain Pushed Her To Help Other Women From Going Through It (Guest: Nona Ellington)

So many people take a side in the abortion argument without looking at it from a personal angle. That isn’t the case of Nona Ellington.

Nona is someone who has been through an abortion at a young age, stating that it was a painful process. At 15 years old, she was a victim of rape by a family member and pressured to get an abortion. As a result of her painful experiences, through her nonprofit ministry, Eagles Restoration, she devotes her time to helping out other women that have gone through a similar scenario, as well as those in abusive relationships or going through a divorce.

Nona spends time speaking out on pro-life bills to ensure that no one has to experience what she went through at a young age. She joins us to discuss her stance and why she’s so driven to help women, even when so many believe in choice over life.

Q&A:

  1. You don’t have to go through all the details, but can you tell us what happened to you in your youth to lead you down this path?
  2. How long have you been speaking on pro-life? What are probably the most influential groups you’ve spoken to on the subject?
  3. How did you go about forming your nonprofit ministry? Was it from hearing the other stories of what other women went through, combined with your own personal experience?
  4. How did you get involved as a client with the Amicus Curiae Briefs filed by The Justice Foundation?
  5. We’ve seen you speak out in the Arkansas Legislature about an AB 21 bill. Can you provide more details on it and why you’ve spoken so often about it?
  6. We know you’re currently undergoing medical treatments, but what are you doing to continue your fight for pro-life?
  7. Where can we learn more about Eagles Restoration Ministries?

Nona Ellington currently runs her nonprofit ministry, Eagles Restoration Ministries. She reaches out to the wounded hearts of women who have had abortions, been in abusive relationships, and been through a divorce. She also shared her story surrounding abortion before the Texas State Legislature, Arkansas Legislature, and a Congressional Listening Session in Washington DC.  Nona also served as a client in several Amicus Curiae Briefs filed by The Justice Foundation in abortion cases at the Supreme Court.
