OBAMA ENVOY CAUGHT LYING: After First Denying he said things Sympathetic to Convicted Terrorist, Recording makes Rashad Hussain Change Course
This story first broke after Barack Obama announced via video conference that a man named Rashad Hussain would serve as his Islamic envoy to the Organization on Islamic Conference (OIC), a group made up of 57 Islamic states.
The controversy involved sympathetic statements attributed to Hussain about convicted terrorist Sami al-Arian in 2004 at a Muslim Student's Association (MSA) event.
A publication called the Washington Report on Middle Eastern Affairs (WRMEA) mysteriously removed Hussain's quotes from its story some time after 2007. WRMEA editor Delinda Hanley told Fox News that the quotes were removed in February, 2009, one month after Hussain landed a job in the U.S. Department of Justice.
Former Muslim terrorist Walid Shoebat, along with his foundation's executive director, Keith Davies can provide keen insight into groups like the MSA and why the fact that Hussain even appeared at that event should be cause for serious concern.
Nonetheless, the actions of the White House, Rashad Hussain, and the WRMEA editor could arguably rise to the level of conspiracy thanks to a recording of the 2004 event obtained by POLITICO (link to story below). As a direct result of that recording, Hussain has admitted that he did in fact make the comments.
Earlier, Hanley said she had the quotes removed because she was told by someone, whose name she couldn't remember that they were not said by Hussain but instead by al-Arian's daughter, Laila. Questions loomed about why the quotes were removed entirely and not re-attributed to al-Arian.
