STATE OF THE UNION REBUTTAL: 23 Experts Available to Critique Obama’s Address

STATE OF THE UNION REBUTTAL: 23 Experts Available to Critique Obama’s Address

Image 23 rebuttal guests are available to respond to President Barack Obama’s first State of the Union address.

Is America better off than today than it was one year ago when Obama took office? Any of our panel of 23 experts are available as your interview guest (s) to address this question as well as offer their perspectives on the real “state of the union.”

Bob Rinear, Economist and Publisher of The Financial Intelligence Report (in NY)
“In January 2009, unemployment was at 7.7 percent. In January 2010, it stands at 10 percent. In January 2009, the outstanding U.S. public debt was a whopping 10.6 trillion dollars. Today, it’s 12.8 trillion. January 2009’s foreclosure notices rendered 274,399. By December 2009, they rendered 349,519. Something doesn't add up when you compare what the White house tells us about the state of the union and the state of the economy with what seems to be taking place.”

Bob Chapman, Economist and publisher of The International Forecaster
“In light of the Scott Brown victory, Obama will reflect and blame the previous administration for his problems, and the can of worms he inherited, such as the situation in Afghanistan, the economy and the financial situation, which he and his group will ‘miraculously’ solve.”

Craig R. Smith, economist, Swiss America CEO and author
“Yesterday’s (Massachusetts Senatorial) election was more than just a Republican win and Democrat defeat. It was a major victory for American conservative values. It proves that Americans have gotten their voice back and that it is NOT too late to turn this great nation around. The U.S. dollar strengthened on the view that political gridlock may help slam the brakes on Obama’s socialist spending spree.”

Scott Wheeler, Executive Director of National Republican Trust
Scott’s organization contributed $100,000 in the Scott Brown Senate Race in the form of an independent expenditure. Not only does Scott give a tough critique of Obama’s first year, but he also wrote a book on Obama’s Czars and explains how Obama’s Czars mirrors Obama’s philosophy and agenda, which is a far cry from the US voter constituency he’s supposed to represent. (Scott Wheeler is only available for national programs)

Chris Slattery, founder of EMC Front Line Pregnancy Centers, the largest chain of crisis pregnancy centers in New York, warns that Nancy Pelosi is hinting she might use the so-called “nuclear” option, allowing the national healthcare bill to pass with only 51 Senate votes rather than 60. Said Slatter, “The pro-abortion provisions are morally wrong and would cost taxpayers millions. We have to be very vigilant to make sure no shenanigans are played in the coming weeks to push through a healthcare bill with a simple majority in the Senate. This is one of the fallback plans the Democrats are counting on to get this bill passed before campaigns really begin to heat up for November.”

James Lansberry, president of the Alliance of Health Care Sharing Ministries, is a Peoria-based expert available to comment on a variety of issues related to health care, including alternatives to traditional health insurance, the economics of health care, health care public policy, health care and tax policy, and the health care industry in general. Lansberry also is vice president of Peoria-based Samaritan Ministries International. His articles have been published in Heritage Forum, the Journal of Modern Ministry and he has been interviewed by the CBS Evening News, U.S. News and World Report and the Washington Post.

Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America, warns, “Obamacare would allow the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to set-up and troll a health/gun database in order to take away firearms from tens of millions of Americans.” Pratt further warned, “Pelosi did say there's a ‘foundation in that bill’ they can work with. So Pelosi may just try to pass one big fix-up bill—using a ‘reconciliation’ bill that will only need 51 votes when it goes to the Senate—or simply break up the Senate bill into smaller pieces and send those parts to the President.”

Michael Letts, a leading fundraiser for providing bulletproof vests to America’s police officers
“Well, clearly, the name of the game is: jobs, jobs, jobs. Unfortunately, the promises of the President’s signature legislation, the $787 billion stimulus, haven’t been fulfilled. We were told last February that the American people must spend nearly a trillion dollars that we don’t have in order to keep the national unemployment rate at or below eight percent. Today, the unemployment rate sits at double digits. By their own standards, the stimulus didn’t work.”

Larry Grathwohl, the only FBI informant to successfully infiltrate radical organization, The Weather Underground. Larry determined that Obama actually shared an office with Bill Ayers:
“Obama certainly doesn’t understand the meaning of keeping a promise and this related directly to ‘Tran parity,’ which he no longer believes applies to himself. The horse-trading is out and out bribery in my opinion. He and his Democrat friends are, fundamentally, change. But I don’t think it’s for the better.”

Philip Zodhiates, marketing/messaging analyst
“Barack-Obama-pledged ‘change’ was cloaked in traditional patriotism, political moderation and transparency. Instead, we’ve been rushed toward oligarchy and government tyranny, which seeks to control every aspect of our life and businesses, regardless of the Constitutionality of such mandates. This is taking us rapidly toward the precipice of socialism and a complete lack of individual freedom. His stated patriotism has obviously been nothing but a farce. And nothing demonstrates better his lack of transparency than his lack of willingness to even prove he is eligible to be President. I say it is high time he prove he is a natural born citizen, as mandated by the Constitution, or step down.”

Burke Balch, Director of the Robert Powell Center for Medical Ethics, associated with the National Right to Life Committee, specializing in euthanasia-related issues. Burke has been carefully following the ins and outs of the multiple-thousand-page health care restructuring bills, and is an expert on how they would ration lifesaving medical care. “Even if in a ‘scaled back’ version, it is clear that the President will push for the inclusion of strong cost-containment measures will force rationing, claims Balch, adding, “You can’t force Americans to spend less than they want to on health care, as the Senate and House bills would do, and expect that with less treatment the same number of people will survive life-threatening illnesses and injuries. Obamacare is a prescription for rationing the American people can’t afford.”

Darrell L. Castle, Vice President of the Constitution Party
“The state of the union in January 2010 is, in a word, dismal. The nation is fighting active wars in at least 3 countries with no vision of victory in any of them and no end in sight. The Nation's economy appears to be a catastrophe waiting to happen with unemployment over 10%, and foreclosures and personal bankruptcies at record levels. The deficit is running at $1.4 trillion per year and is projected to continue at that level for at least 10 years. Couple that with crashing tax revenue due to unemployment and you have a recipe for disaster and a state of the union that is dismal.”

John Zieglar, documentary filmmaker of Sarah Palin Unplugged
Zieglar contrasts & compares an Obama administration with a potential Palin Presidency

Lee Kaplan, Middle East Foreign Policy Expert
“The State of the Union under Obama can be encapsulated in four sentences: 1.) we are not better off than a year ago; 2.) we have Hamas making bolder and bolder moves in the Middle East with funding that they raise in the U.S.; 3.) we have Israel being forced to accept another Iran on its borders called ‘Palestine,’ as the Iranians threaten us with nukes; and 4.) we have a President who appointed a Homeland Security Chief who thinks she’s the dean of a parochial college somewhere as she call terror attacks ‘man-made disasters’ and takes credit when a miracle stops an airplane from blowing up killing many Americans.”

Robert Spencer, of JihadWatch.org
“Over one-third of the jihad terror attacks and attempted attacks on U.S. soil since 9/11 took place in 2009. This indicates that Islamic jihadists see Barack Obama as weak and uninterested in pursuing them. And they are taking full advantage. In terms of jihad attacks on America, the next three years could be catastrophic.”

Becky Garrison, religious satirist
“Are we the change that we’ve been waiting for? Perhaps Americans have been spending too much time praying for change to come from within the beltway instead of exploring ways we can enact change within our own communities?”

William Thompson, political independent and television producer
“It seems that each time I hear the President or Speakers talk, all they do is talk about how many new projects they are putting into effect—all at my expense. I suspect that Pres. Obama may have set back racial progress two generations with this redistribution of wealth plan and his attempt to underwrite non- and poor-performing people, projects and organizations—again, all at my expense. . . . I will be curious to see how Obama treats joblessness, healthcare, the Massachusetts Senatorial victory by a Republican, the war on terror, spending, the deficit, taxes, broken and unkept promises, and the overall failure of his administration to accomplish anything, even though his party controls both Houses of Congress.

Alan Skorski, author of Pants on Fire: How Al Franken Lies, Smears and Deceives
“Barack Obama took a situation that was teetering on trouble and led us right into it head first. He told us that Americans are not looking for handouts, just a small hand up, but is taking us into a nanny state with new and financially unsustainable programs. He has not earned the respect from our European allies as promised, rather their scorn and mockery. He offers great platitudes but no solutions.”

Micah Halpern, columnist and social/political commentator
“I am reminded of the famous quote by the great philosopher and communicator, Marshall McLuhan, who said, ‘The Medium is the Message.’ The most important element is always the presentation. It is presentation over message all the time.

Americans love a good show and Americans love the underdog. But Americans hate being hoodwinked and despise being misled. President Obama must now pull America back into his sphere and the way to do that is with real sincerity, not simply charm. He has to turn up the unity theme and play down the politics.”

Joe Turi, health insurance expert and consultant to small- and mid-sized businesses
“Daily, I deal with business owners who cannot get financing through banks that stole our money via TARP, just to hand it over in bonuses to their internal employees. Some of these business owners are going out of business, because we have federalized the auto industry and orders do not flow. Meanwhile, health insurance premiums are sky-rocketing even before ‘reform’ is passed.”

John Spisak, CEO of SolaRover and environmental policy expert
“Tele-prompter oratory and the cult of personality are no substitute for leadership. 2008 was a repudiation of George W. Bush and a GOP that lost its soul—not a mandate for 40 years of pent up liberal dreams. Obama provided an oratorical ‘cool-aid,’ devoid of solutions and substance, and then deferred to the congressional left. A recession-battered electorate has been forced to listen and learn and, in a tribute to Jefferson, are proving that ‘they can be trusted with their own government; that whenever things get so far wrong as to attract their notice, they may be relied on to set them to rights’.”

Tim Miller, Presidential historian and publisher
“Obama has failed many opportunities and is in the middle of another (healthcare) failure by attempting too hard to work with the Republicans. He is so scared of losing the people he will never have the support from, that he is losing not only his base but also the independent voters. His promises to his base have mostly gone undelivered and the proposed healthcare package, as it now stands in the Senate, is not reform at all. And even that doesn’t start until 2017.”

Bill Salhus, author and Christian prophecy expert
“Obama’s Mideast foreign policy is making matters worse for America from a biblical perspective.” Bill can discuss the coming antichrist and how some believe Obama was a ‘type’ of antichrist.
