IS THERE A DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE? Pelosi: Not Enough Votes to Pass Senate Health Bill (James Lansberry is in CST)

IS THERE A DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE? Pelosi: Not Enough Votes to Pass Senate Health Bill (James Lansberry is in CST)

Image In an eleventh-hour chain of events, the lights appear to be going down on Congress’ latest attempt at healthcare reform, as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has publicly conceded that she can’t gather enough votes to approve the Senate’s version of a bill.

Available for interviews on this subject is James Lansberry, vice president of Samaritan Ministries, who has been following the legislative evolution of healthcare reform in the past year very closely.

Apart from the fact that he is, by profession, a perpetual student of healthcare policy, Lansberry has had a vested interest in the progression of the reform process in Washington because of the impact it can potentially have on Samaritan—an alternative, free-market healthcare coverage solution that currently serves nearly 14,000 member families around the world.

Just when the healthcare reform debate was getting dicey, with concerns that the Democrats were going to succeed in pushing the Senate bill through before it had time to be scrutinized, Republican Scott Brown won a huge upset victory in Massachusetts, grabbed the late Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat, and derailed the Democrats’ super-majority train.

“Certainly Tuesday’s election has changed the face of reform efforts in Congress,” says Lansberry. “Right now, it is too early to say what this means for healthcare reform going forward, except that the pace will slow somewhat. Our prayer is that this means we will see a sound, bipartisan reform bill that will address the key issues of portability and cost, while retaining essential freedoms for choice in healthcare, particularly for members of healthcare sharing ministries.”

To hear more about Lansberry’s projection on the course of the healthcare debate going further into election year 2010, as well as the intriguing details about the innovative concept of healthcare sharing ministries, call Special Guests today to schedule an interview.
